Description
TheraBand Latex Resistance Bands are the original colour-coded elastic resistance system trusted by physiotherapists, athletic trainers, and rehabilitation specialists worldwide. Sold by the foot, they give you the flexibility to cut exactly the length you need — whether for a single exercise, a full training session, or to replace a worn section of your current band.
The bands apply both positive and negative force on muscles and joints, making them effective for stretching, toning, and conditioning all major muscle groups. They are well-suited for injury rehabilitation, pre-workout priming, mobility work, and progressive strength training — at home, in the clinic, or on the go.
TheraBand's colour-coded progression system makes it straightforward to track your progress and move to the next resistance level as your strength improves. With eight levels ranging from Extra Thin (2.4 lbs / 1.1 kg) to Max (14.2 lbs / 6.5 kg), there is a suitable starting point for beginners and a clear pathway for advanced users.
Features
- Sold by the foot — cut to your required length
- 8 colour-coded progressive resistance levels from 2.4 lbs (1.1 kg) to 14.2 lbs (6.5 kg)
- Band width 5in (12.5cm)
- Applies positive and negative resistance to target muscles and joints
- Suitable for rehabilitation, stretching, toning, and athletic conditioning
- Pull-force tested — each level represents a consistent resistance increase of 25% (clinical range) or 40% (advanced range)
- Latex construction for consistent, reliable elastic resistance
- Lightweight and portable — easy to store and carry
- Used and recommended by physiotherapists and sports medicine professionals
How It Works
Unlike free weights or machines, elastic resistance is determined by how much the band is stretched relative to its resting length — a measurement known as force-elongation. The resistance produced depends on the percentage of elongation, not the starting length of the band. For example, a length of green band stretched to double its resting length (100% elongation) produces 4.6 lbs (2.1 kg) of resistance — regardless of whether the starting length was 1 foot or 3 feet.
This makes TheraBand resistance bands highly adaptable: by adjusting your starting length or grip position, you can fine-tune the resistance within each colour level. As you build strength, moving to the next colour provides a consistent, measured increase in resistance — 25% per step in the clinical range (Extra Thin through Special Heavy) and 40% per step in the advanced range (Super Heavy and Max).

| Yellow — Thin | 3.0 lbs (1.3 kg) | +25% |
| Red — Medium | 3.7 lbs (1.7 kg) | +25% |
| Green — Heavy | 4.6 lbs (2.1 kg) | +25% |
| Blue — Extra Heavy | 5.8 lbs (2.6 kg) | +25% |
| Black — Special Heavy | 7.3 lbs (3.3 kg) | +25% |
| Silver — Super Heavy | 10.2 lbs (4.6 kg) | +40% |
| Gold — Max | 14.2 lbs (6.5 kg) | +40% |
