The first aid requirements for workplaces in Alberta are based on the number of employees on the worksite at one time, the workplace hazard rating, travel routes/time to the nearest medical facility, and specific workplace layout. For the most current regulations, refer to Part 11 of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code. Here you can find the updated change.

First Aid Kits are required to be in accordance with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), CSA Z1220 - First aid kits for the workplace. There are 3 types based on the risk of your work area. Type 2 and 3 offer different size kits. We broke down the requirements in the chart below.
An organization shall provide a Type 1: Personal first aid kit to all workers who work in isolation or those who do not otherwise have access to a workplace first aid kit.
