Directions for Use
- Cleanse the wound in accordance with clinical practice. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly. Avoid moisturizers, gels or ointments on the skin around the wound, as they may affect adhesion.
- Remove the release liners and apply the sticky side to the skin without stretching the dressing. Ensure that the absorbent pad covers the wound.
- Gently press the border to ensure proper adhesion to the skin.
- To remove, grasp the edge and slowly peel the dressing from the skin in the direction of hair growth.
Change Mepore before the dressing is fully saturated, at signs of leakage, or as indicated by clinical practice.
Indications
Mepore is designed for use on low to moderately exuding wounds, such as surgical wounds, cuts and abrasions.
Safety Information
- Do not use Mepore on patients with known hypersensitivity to acrylic adhesives or other materials or components of the product.
-
Do not use on fragile skin. If used on fragile skin, it may cause skin irritation.
-
Do not stretch the dressing when applying. Take care that Mepore is not applied under tension, to prevent shear forces causing damage to the skin. When applying over joints, apply it so that it does not impair joint flexibility. After some surgical procedures, excessive swelling may occur; in that case a more flexible dressing may be better to minimise skin tension.
- If you see signs of infection, such as fever or the wound or surrounding skin becoming red, warm or swollen, consult a healthcare professional for appropriate treatment.
-
Do not reuse. If reused, performance of the product may deteriorate and cross contamination may occur.
- Do not use if the inner package (sterile barrier) is damaged or opened prior to use. Do not re-sterilise.
- If a serious incident occurs in relation to the use of Mepore, report it to Mölnlycke Health Care and to your local competent authority.
