The Bauerfeind GenuTrain S (Custom-Made) is a made-to-measure version of the GenuTrain S orthopedic knee brace with lateral joint splints, for users whose measurements fall outside the standard size range or who need a more individualized fit. It supports the knee for mild to moderate instability, arthritis, and osteoarthritis, using anatomically contoured side bars to guide movement and a ring-shaped pad around the kneecap that works with the knit and strap system for support and an intermittent compression-massage effect during movement.

Like the standard model, it uses breathable Train Active Knit for comfortable extended wear, with reduced pressure at the edges to help prevent constriction, and adjustable straps that connect directly to the side bars to control support. The difference is fit: the brace is manufactured to individual measurements rather than a numbered size.

How It Works

According to the manufacturer, the interaction of compression and the massaging pad is intended to activate the surrounding muscles and support the knee. The lateral joint splints guide the knee's movement and can be heated and reshaped by a professional to match an individual's anatomy.

Care Instructions

• Machine wash separately at 30 °C (86 °F) with liquid detergent
• Remove Velcro straps if possible, or fasten them firmly in place before washing
• Remove pads or splints before washing where possible
• Use a laundry net; spin cycle no higher than 500 rpm
• Air dry only — do not tumble dry, which can damage the knit
• Wash regularly to help the knit retain its compression
