Description
Description
The Bauerfeind GenuTrain S is an orthopedic knee brace with lateral joint splints, designed to support the knee for slight instability, arthritis, and osteoarthritis. Anatomically contoured side bars guide the knee's movement, while a ring-shaped pad surrounds the kneecap and works with the knit and strap system to provide support and an intermittent compression-massage effect during movement.
The breathable Train Active Knit is comfortable for extended wear and helps keep moisture away from the skin, with reduced pressure at the edges to prevent constriction. The padded ring around the kneecap helps position the brace and adapts to the angle of the knee as it bends, and the adjustable straps connect directly to the side bars so you can set the level of support.
How It Works
According to the manufacturer, the interaction of compression and the massaging pad is intended to activate the surrounding muscles and support the knee. The lateral joint splints guide the knee's movement and can be heated and reshaped by a professional to match an individual's anatomy for a closer fit.
Indications
- Slight instability of the knee
- Osteoarthritis of the knee
- Arthritis (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis)
Consult a healthcare professional to confirm the GenuTrain S is appropriate for your condition and to fit the side bars.
