Description
The MOVO Cloud Carbon is a folding power wheelchair built on a carbon fibre frame, intended for indoor use and for level, paved surfaces outdoors. It is driven by the occupant using a joystick controller mounted on either armrest, and it folds side to side so it can be stood upright for storage or lifted by the straps at the sides of the seat.
The battery sits in a removable case rather than being fixed in the frame, so it can be taken indoors to charge. The chair can also be charged through a socket on the controller without bending down. The footrests are removable and adjustable in height, the armrests flip up for transfers, and the backrest folds down. An electromagnetic brake holds the chair and releases with a lever so it can be pushed manually on level ground.
Features
- Carbon fibre frame and armrests
- Cross-folding frame that stands upright when folded, with lifting straps at the sides of the seat and a folding lock
- Joystick controller with on/off, speed up and down, battery level, speed indicator and horn, mountable on the left or right armrest
- Removable battery case, chargeable on or off the chair, with a second charging socket on the controller
- Electromagnetic brake with a manual release lever for pushing the chair on level ground
- Fixed anti-tip wheels
- Flip-up armrests, folding backrest, and removable height-adjustable footrests
- Solid puncture-free tyres
- Seat belt
- Rear storage bag
Safety Information
- Do not exceed the maximum user weight in the Specifications, and do not carry a second person or goods. The chair is designed for one occupant.
- Do not use this chair as a seat in a motor vehicle. It has not been tested for use in a vehicle and could fail in an impact.
- Do not drive across a slope or ramp at an angle, exceed the slope limit in the manual, or drive on sand, mud, gravel, snow, ice, rough ground, wet surfaces or roads with traffic. The anti-tip wheels must be fitted and undamaged, and only work on firm ground.
- Do not release the brake lever while the chair is on a slope, sit in the chair with the brake released, or turn the power off while driving, as the chair can stop abruptly and tip.
- Do not sit in or drive the chair while it is folded, partly unfolded, or on charge. Switch the power off before transferring in or out, fasten the seat belt when seated, and keep fingers clear of the frame and joints when folding.
- Do not use a mobile phone or two-way radio while the chair is powered on, as these can interfere with the electronics. Turn the chair off as soon as it is safe if it moves on its own or the brake releases unexpectedly.
- Do not modify the chair, fit third-party parts, or use any charger other than the one supplied. Charge in a dry, well-ventilated place away from heat, and stop using a battery that smells, gets hot or looks damaged.
- Do not drive under the influence of alcohol, or of medication that could affect your ability to control the chair. Check with your physician or pharmacist if you are unsure.
- The manual under Resources carries the full list of warnings and the buzzer fault codes. Read it before first use.
Care Instructions
- Wipe the upholstery, frame and plastic parts with a dry or damp cloth. Never spray or hose the chair, and do not use oil or chemicals, as water and solvents can damage the electronics.
- Before each trip, check that the tyres are sound, that the wheels and front forks turn freely, that the brake and horn work, and that the battery has enough charge.
- Check the upholstery periodically for holes, cracks and wear, and that its fixings are secure.
- Recharge after each use, even if the battery is only partly discharged, and recharge periodically during long periods of storage. Do not charge above 40 °C or below 10 °C.
- Do not store the battery in a hot car or in direct sunlight.
- Have the chair inspected at least once a year by a qualified dealer using approved parts, and go to a dealer for any repair or adjustment.
- At end of life, do not put the chair or its batteries in household waste. Take them to a designated recycling facility in line with local regulations.
