The Norco Dema-Wrap is a self-adhering cohesive bandage designed to provide light compression and support for sprains, strains, and edema management. It adheres to itself without clips, pins, or tape, and can be cut to length for a custom fit on any body part.

Dema-Wrap suits a range of applications from finger wrapping to larger muscle groups like the biceps and triceps. Each roll measures 5 yds (4.6 m) in length. It is also available in a latex-free variety for individuals with latex sensitivity, and comes in both standard beige and a range of colours.

The bandage can be used as a primary compression wrap, as a secondary layer to secure dressings, or as a replacement for tape when securing catheters or wound coverings. Wrap with light stretch using the spiral technique for even, comfortable compression.

Features

  • Self-adhering — sticks to itself without clips, pins, or additional tape
  • Designed to provide light compression and support for sprains, strains, and edema
  • Can be used to secure dressings or catheters as an alternative to tape
  • Cuts to length — no fraying
  • Available in four widths: 2 in (5.1 cm)
  • Each roll: 5 yds (4.6 m) in length
  • Available in standard (contains natural rubber latex) and latex-free varieties
  • Available in beige and assorted colours

How It Works

Dema-Wrap is applied using the spiral wrap technique, overlapping layers two to three times around the affected area with light stretch to achieve even compression. Because it only adheres to itself, it will not pull on skin or hair during removal. The wrap should feel comfortable and should not restrict circulation — if compression feels too tight, or if the area distal to the wrap changes colour, swelling increases, or pain, stiffness, or numbness worsens, the wrap should be loosened immediately and a healthcare professional consulted if symptoms continue.

Indications

  • Sports injuries — sprains and strains of muscles and joints
  • Swelling and edema management
  • Minor hand and joint conditions
  • Securing dressings or catheters as a tape alternative

Consult a healthcare professional before use if you are unsure of the appropriate compression level or technique for your condition.

Contraindications

  • Skin irritation or known allergy to polypropylene
  • Known allergy to natural rubber latex (standard model) — use latex-free variety
  • Known allergy to polyisoprene latex (latex-free model)
  • Loss of circulation to the affected area
  • Do not apply directly over open wounds

Directions for Use

  1. Wrap the bandage around the affected area using the spiral technique, overlapping layers approximately two to three times.
  2. Apply with light stretch to achieve light compression. Do not over-tighten.
  3. Cut to the desired length and press the end firmly against the wrap to secure. Tape the end for a more permanent hold if needed.
  4. Check that the wrap is comfortable and does not restrict circulation.
  5. Loosen immediately if compression feels too tight, or if you notice colour change, increased swelling, or numbness distal to the wrap.
  6. Seek advice from a healthcare professional if symptoms persist or worsen.

Care Instructions

Spot clean with cool water and mild soap. Air dry. Single-use application is recommended for hygienic use.
