Description
The AeroFly Ultra-Lite Wheelchair is a folding manual wheelchair built on a die-cast magnesium alloy frame. It is designed for users and caregivers who need a self-propelling chair that can be lifted into a car, carried over a step, or stored in a cupboard between outings without a second pair of hands.
The rear wheels come off at the push of a quick-release button and the backrest folds flat, reducing the chair to a compact package. Carry handles are integrated into the seat so there is a defined lifting point once the wheels are removed. The chair is fitted with both attendant brakes on the push handles and wheel locks on the rear wheels, so a caregiver can slow the chair on a gradient and the chair can be parked securely for transfers. Solid rubber treaded tires never need inflation.
Two seat widths and two frame finishes are available. Padded seat and back overlay cushions, European-style swing-away footrests with heel loops, and wheeled rear anti-tippers are fitted as standard.
Features
- Die-cast magnesium alloy frame with a smooth, weld-free profile
- Quick-release rear axles that release the rear wheels without tools
- Fold-down backrest and folding frame for storage and transport
- Carry handles integrated into the seat
- Attendant brakes beneath the push handles, with a locking mechanism to hold the chair stationary
- Wheel locks on both rear wheels, engaged by pushing the handle fully forward
- Spoke rear wheels with handrims for self-propelling
- Solid rubber treaded tires that do not require inflation
- European-style swing-away footrests with ergonomic release levers and integrated heel loops
- Height-adjustable footplates
- Fixed, desk-length arms with moulded armrest pads
- Removable padded seat and back overlay cushions secured with hook and loop strips
- Wheeled rear anti-tippers supplied as standard
Directions for Use

- Raise the backrest supports to upright; the lock engages automatically
- Fit each rear wheel using the quick-release button, and confirm the axles are fully engaged before the chair is used
- Remove the rubber caps from the rear lower frame and insert the anti-tippers until the detent buttons engage
- Attach the seat and back overlay cushions with the hook and loop strips

Sizing
Seat width is the measurement across the seat between the side panels. Measure the widest point of the hips and thighs while seated and allow clearance on each side so the user is not resting against the panels. Check the overall width of the chair against the narrowest doorway or hallway it needs to pass through, and check the folded dimensions against the boot or storage space it will be kept in. Weight capacity differs between the two seat widths.
