Description
The Drive Medical Toilet Safety Frame mounts to the toilet using the existing seat bolts, placing an armrest on each side of the seat. It gives a stable handhold for sitting down and standing up, in bathrooms where wall-mounted grab bars are not practical or where support is needed on both sides.
The arms adjust for both height and width using built-in snap buttons, so the frame can be set to suit the user and the toilet it is fitted to. The anodized aluminum frame is light enough to handle during installation, and the plastic armrests give a comfortable surface to push up from.
Features
- Anodized aluminum frame, sturdy and lightweight
- Plastic armrests for added comfort and support
- Height-adjustable and width-adjustable arms set with built-in snap buttons, no tools required
- Powder-coated aluminum bracket secures the frame to the toilet
- Rubber tips on the legs
Directions for Use
Installation involves removing the toilet seat, fitting the mounting bracket beneath it, and refitting the seat with the original bolts and nuts. Before purchase, confirm the following.
- The toilet seat can be removed and refitted, and the original bolts and nuts are intact.
- There is clear floor space on both sides of the toilet for the frame legs.
- An occupational therapist or clinician has confirmed that a toilet-mounted frame is the right support for the user, rather than a wall-mounted or floor-standing alternative.
Safety Information
- Do not use the product until all built-in snap buttons are engaged and secured.
- Do not exceed the 300 lb (136 kg) weight capacity.
- Do not use the frame if any tube is bent, if the bracket is loose, or if the frame shifts or rocks under load.
- Check the toilet seat bolts and all snap buttons periodically and re-secure as needed.
- Rubber tips wear with normal use. Replace them before the leg tube contacts the floor directly.
- Refer to the manufacturer's instructions, linked under Resources below, for the complete installation procedure and warnings.
Care Instructions
- Wipe with a soft cloth and mild soap and water, then dry.
- Do not use abrasive pads, scouring powders or solvent-based cleaners.
