Description
Bed frame only. Mattress, side rails and grab handles are sold separately.
Safe working load: 421 lb (191 kg), including occupant, mattress and accessories.
The Drive DeVilbiss Solite Pro Low is a fully electric homecare bed frame with covered bed ends, designed for use at home or in long-term care, rehabilitation and geriatric care settings. This low hospital-style bed raises the mattress platform so a caregiver can work at a comfortable standing height, and lowers it close to the floor, where Drive recommends leaving it when the occupant is unattended to help reduce the risk of injury from a fall. The backrest and leg section adjust independently or together with auto-contour, and an electric foot-down tilt helps with repositioning.
The profiling bed frame separates into four sections without tools and comes with built-in transport stands for moving and storage, making it practical for home delivery and setup. A single handset controls all functions and includes a key-operated lockout, so a caregiver can disable any movement that is unsuitable for the occupant.
Features
- Fully electric height adjustment, backrest, leg section and foot-down tilt
- Low bed design that brings the occupant closer to the floor
- Auto-contour adjusts the backrest and leg section together
- Auto-regressing backrest

Intended Use
The intended use of the bed is to support the weight of the patient whilst sleeping or resting and to assist the end user to gain and/or maintain a suitable position. Beds are not intended for patient/resident transport. Wheels are provided only to allow movement within the patient/resident room for cleaning or patient/resident access.
The bed is intended for use in a domestic area where the bed is used to alleviate or compensate for an injury, disability or disease, or a long term care area where medical supervision is required and monitoring is provided if necessary (e.g. nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, geriatric facilities).
Indications
To assist in the care and/or comfort of the patient or care provider when the bed is used in the environments specified above.
Contraindications
- Cervical or skeletal traction
- Unstable spinal fractures - if bed functions remain unlocked
- General skeletal fractures - if relevant bed functions remain unlocked
- Patients who lack capacity
- Confused, agitated or restless
- Exceeds maximum patient weight of bed
- Less than 57.5 in (146 cm) in length

Electric beds should not be operated by persons who do not have the cognitive skills to understand the information in the owner's manual or cannot understand and perform the proper operation of the bed. This bed should not be used or operated by children.
How It Works
The handset drives electric linear actuators through a central control box. Bed-end actuators raise and lower the mattress platform and create the foot-down tilt, while separate actuators move the backrest and leg section. Holding a button operates the function; releasing it stops all movement. A key inserted into the handset locks or unlocks each function individually, and a yellow indicator shows when a function is locked.
Safety Information
- Do not exceed the safe working load. The safe working load is the combined total of the occupant, mattress, accessories and any mass they support.
- Do not let visitors sit on the side of the bed. The stated loads are for one occupant only.
- Do not use the bed if any hand wheel, clevis pin, R clip or locking collar is loose, missing or unlocked. Risk of bed collapse.
- Do not extend the bed while side rails are fitted. Remove side rails first.
- Do not use a dynamic mattress with the bed in its extended state. A hazardous gap is created.
- Do not use the bed to transport an occupant. The castors are for moving the bed within a room.
- Do not use electrically operated beds near flammable gases or in oxygen-rich environments. Keep the bed away from heat sources and naked flames.
- Do not use accessories that are not approved for this bed.
- Carry out a patient risk assessment before use, covering entrapment, falls, small adults and children, patients who lack capacity, unauthorized access and use of accessories.
- Lock out any function if there is doubt about the occupant's ability to operate the bed safely, and store the key out of reach to avoid a choking hazard.
- Before lowering the bed, make sure no one is close to the underside of the frame. Keep limbs, bedding, cables and tubing clear of moving parts.
- Position the handset cable and bed cables to minimize the risk of entanglement or strangulation.
- Keep portable RF communications equipment at least 12 in (30 cm) from any part of the bed.
- Drive recommends leaving the bed in its lowest position when the occupant is unattended.
- Assembly and servicing should be carried out by qualified personnel. Read the owner's manual before putting the bed into service.
Care Instructions
- Disconnect the bed from the mains before cleaning and check all cable plugs are fully inserted to maintain the IP rating.
- Wipe down with a clean cloth moistened with mild detergent in warm water at 104 degrees F (40 degrees C), rinse with cold clean water and allow to dry fully before use.
- For decontamination, wipe with a 0.1% chlorine solution (1,000 ppm) in cold water, then rinse and dry. Use a 1% chlorine solution (10,000 ppm) for blood or bodily fluids.
- Dry steam cleaning is permitted. Reduce steam pressure near electrical and wooden components. Do not use neat bleach or high-pressure hoses.
- Avoid direct sunlight and damp environments.
- The bed must be serviced at least once a year by authorized personnel.
