The pack reaches a target temperature of 110 °F (43.3 °C) and releases that heat in a controlled way, which is designed to help reduce the temperature extremes associated with methods such as hot water bottles, heat lamps, and towels. The gel-like contents are intended to deliver consistent warmth across the surface of the pack. Rounded corners are designed to improve comfort against the body.

Each pack measures 6 x 9 in (15.2 x 22.9 cm), is intended for a single application of no more than 20 minutes, and is discarded after use. The product is not made with natural rubber latex.

How It Works

The pack contains a supersaturated food grade sodium acetate solution and a separate inner fluid bag. Squeezing the pack until the inner bag pops disturbs the solution and triggers crystallization, and kneading the contents distributes that reaction through the pack. The crystallization releases heat, bringing the pack up to its target temperature without any external heat source. Because the reaction is self-limiting, the pack is designed to hold a consistent warmth rather than spike to the higher surface temperatures possible with hot water bottles or heat lamps.

Contraindications and Warnings

If accidentally swallowed, give several glasses of water and contact your local poison control centre immediately. Should contents become exposed to skin or eyes, flush with water immediately and call a physician.

Directions for Use

1. Locate the arrows on the front of the pack.
2. Grasp the pack in the palm of your hand so that the arrows line up with your thumb and forefinger.
3. Squeeze until the inner fluid bag pops.
4. Knead the pack to mix the contents.
5. Apply to the treatment area.

Do not use the hot therapy for more than 20 minutes. Activate away from the face and body. Single use only — discard after use.
