How It Works

Levamed Active combines compressive knit fabric, integrated 3D silicone metatarsal pads, and an adjustable strap system to address soft tissue compression needs at the ankle joint. The strap system includes both elastic and non-elastic sections, allowing the level of support and the degree of movement restriction — particularly supination — to be individually adjusted. The 90-degree knitted shape is designed to follow the natural contour of the foot, reinforcing the arch and improving the fit under the foot. The 3D silicone pads sit on both the inner and outer aspects of the ankle and are designed to massage soft tissue and may help manage localized swelling with movement. The enclosed donning aid simplifies application and helps position the support correctly from the first use.

Indications

The Levamed Active is intended for use when soft tissue compression with local additional padding at the ankle joint is required and at least one direction of movement is to be restricted by additional functional elements, such as:

• Joint sprain with overstretching of the capsule
• Chronic ligamentous instability with recurrent supination traumas (twisting of the foot)
• Second phase of treatment for lateral ligament injuries (ruptures)
• Nonsurgical (conservative) treatment of syndesmosis injuries not requiring surgery
