Medline Instant Cold Pack 6"x9"

The Medline Standard Instant Cold Pack is a single-use cold therapy pack that chills on demand without refrigeration or freezing. Folding the pack ruptures an inner bag, and the contents combine to produce cold immediately, making it suited to first aid kits, clinics, sports bags, and vehicle kits where a freezer is not available.

Each pack measures 6 x 9 in (15.2 x 22.9 cm) and is intended to be wrapped in a soft cloth before being applied to the body. The pack is designed for a single application and is discarded after use.

The product is not made with natural rubber latex, making it suitable for use around people with latex sensitivity.

How It Works

The pack holds water and a separate inner bag of calcium ammonium nitrate granules. Folding the pack ruptures the inner bag, allowing the granules to dissolve into the water. This dissolving reaction absorbs heat from its surroundings, which drops the temperature of the pack and delivers cold therapy without any need for prior refrigeration. Shaking the pouch for at least 15 seconds fully dissolves the granules, and shaking occasionally during use is intended to help maintain cooling performance.

Indications

For use whenever instant, safe, cold therapy is required.
