Not as good as it used to be
I have used this brace for 4 years due to a knee dislocation. I have found the brace I have ordered in the past two months is not the same as the older braces I have of the same model. The fabric is thinner, the hinges less supportive with less metal, and in particular, and of great concern is the length of the velcro fastenings….they are about 1 inch shorter than on the older braces. The shorter length of the velcro fastenings mean the brace can pop open…a great danger to anyone whose knee risks dislocation. I buy this brace as it is one of the only front opening braces on the market with a lateral J support to keep kneecap in place. If you have a bigger calf and thinner thigh, it is the only brace of this sort. It has a larger kneecap (patella) opening so it does not press on you knee as all the DonJoy lateral J braces do. But, again, this brace is poor quality now unforutnaly. Now likely made in China. So sad as it used to be a good product.
