Indications

The manufacturer states that this scooter is indicated for individuals with a total or severe inability to walk due to:

  • Paralysis
  • Loss of limbs (amputation)
  • Extremity defects or deformities
  • Joint damage, provided manual dexterity in at least one arm is preserved
  • Other debilitating diseases

The manufacturer adds that a scooter is indicated when a manual wheelchair is no longer feasible but the user still has the physical and mental capacity to safely operate an electric motor-driven device.

Contraindications

The manufacturer states that use of this scooter is not recommended for individuals with:

  • Severe balance disorders or equilibrium impairment
  • Significant visual impairment (insufficient eyesight for safe operation)
  • Severe cognitive impairments, for example dementia or an inability to follow safety instructions

Safety Information

  • Do not operate the scooter on public streets or roadways, or in heavy traffic. Obey local pedestrian traffic rules wherever it is used.
  • The manufacturer states that this scooter does not meet ISO 7176-19 and cannot be used as a seat in a motor vehicle. Transfer to a vehicle seat and secure the scooter separately.
  • Do not drive on a slope steeper than the rated 10 degrees. Drive straight up the face of a slope rather than across it, and reduce speed on descents, since stopping distances on slopes are much longer than on level ground.
  • Single occupant only. Do not carry passengers.
  • Not intended for use by people with significant visual impairment. Sufficient finger dexterity is required to operate the controls.
  • Not for use by children under 12.
  • Always wear the seat belt and keep your feet on the floorboard while driving.
  • Turn the power off before getting on or off.
  • Do not engage free-wheel mode while the scooter is on a slope, and check the motors are engaged before switching the power on.
  • Do not switch the power off while moving. This stops the scooter abruptly.
  • Avoid operating in rain, sleet or snow. Moisture can cause electronic faults and frame corrosion, and snow risks skidding.
  • Do not operate hand-held radios or mobile phones while the scooter is switched on. Electromagnetic interference can release the brakes or cause unintended movement. Turn the scooter off if that happens.
  • The scooter's surfaces can get hot enough to burn skin after long exposure to direct sunlight.
  • Two people are needed to lift the seat out safely.
  • The full set of warnings, including inclines, obstacles, battery handling and electromagnetic interference, is in the user manual linked below. Read it before first use.

Care Instructions

Clean plastic and metal parts with a soft damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleanser. Wash the upholstery with warm water and mild soap. Never hose the scooter down or spray water or liquid cleaner onto the display or electronics. If disinfection is needed, use a disinfectant approved for medical equipment and test it on a small hidden area first.

Store in a warm, dry place. For long term storage, charge the batteries fully, disconnect or remove the battery pack, and recharge at least once a month. The user manual sets out the daily, weekly, monthly and semi-annual inspection schedule, including tire pressure and tread checks. All maintenance and repair should be carried out by an authorized dealer.
