The Human Care neXus 3 is a four-wheel rollator built around a patented cross-folding frame. The cross-fold allows the rollator to stand on its own once folded, and lets it be partially folded to pass through narrow doorways and tight spaces without being completely collapsed. The same frame geometry opens up the space between the rear wheels, giving the user room for a natural walking gait rather than shortened steps.

Braking is fully cable-free. With no exposed cables, there is nothing to catch on furniture or doorframes, and the anatomic brake handles include a red ball that can be pressed with the palm of the hand - designed for users with limited hand dexterity or grip strength. The padded, contoured seat provides a resting point, and the padded backstrap flips to either side to allow two seating positions and to act as a visual reference for gait.

The neXus 3 is available in three seat heights - Super Low, Low, and Standard - and in black, blue, or red (burgundy). All three sizes share the same overall width and a maximum user weight of 441 lb (200 kg).

How It Works

The neXus 3 uses a cross-folding frame rather than the side-to-side fold found on conventional rollators. The two sides of the frame draw together diagonally, which collapses the width while keeping the base geometry intact - this is what allows the folded rollator to remain standing rather than needing to be leaned against a wall. Because the fold is progressive, the frame can be brought partly inward to narrow the rollator for a doorway and then reopened, without the user having to fold and unfold it completely.

The brakes operate mechanically through the frame instead of through tensioned cables running along the outside. Braking force is applied through the linkage rather than a cable pull, and the anatomic handle shape means the brake can be engaged with the palm rather than requiring a finger grip. Removing the cables is intended to reduce the maintenance and snagging associated with cable-operated systems.

• Check periodically that the black height adjustment knobs are tightened securely.
• Check frequently for any loose, cracked, or corroded plastic or metal components.
• Have the rollator inspected every year by an authorized dealer or service agent.

Care Instructions

Clean the frame by wiping it down with a damp cloth using water and a mild detergent only.

• To wash the seat, loosen the red neXus handle and unbutton the two soft seat cushions from the seat. Refit the cushions to the seat after washing.
• The seat cushions may be machine-washed at 140 °F (60 °C) for 10 minutes.
• The seat cushions may be dried at a maximum of 158 °F (70 °C) for 10 minutes. Observe the finishing requirements.
• Avoid flushing water into the bearings, wheels and forks.
• Do not use chlorine bleach.
• Do not use abrasive cleansers.
• Do not use naphtha, gasoline, or other solvents.

Sizing

Rollator sizing is set by seat height, measured from the floor to the bottom of the seat pan. As a general guide, the seat height should allow the user to sit with both feet flat on the floor, and knees bent at roughly a right angle, and the handles should sit at wrist height when standing upright with arms relaxed at the sides. Have a healthcare professional confirm the size and set the handle height before use.

A lower-handle configuration is available on the Super Low in black only: part no. 470018S can be equipped with an alternative handle kit that lowers the handle height range to 27.5"-30.5" (70-77.5 cm).
