The Raz-AT is an attendant-tilt mobile shower commode chair for people who need full assistance with bathing and toileting. It is designed to be pushed and tilted by an attendant rather than self-propelled, and it rolls directly over most standard toilets once the commode pan is removed, so a transfer does not have to be repeated part-way through a routine.

The seat tilts back to redistribute the person's weight while they remain seated. The frame is stainless steel with a lifetime warranty against corrosion, and the seat, headrest and commode pan all lift off for cleaning. Side and front access are left unobstructed to give an attendant room to work. Setting the chair up and adjusting it are dealer tasks, and seat depth, seat opening and backrest height are chosen at the time of order.

• Attendant-operated tilt on two locking gas struts, released by squeezing the triggers on the push handles, locked by releasing them, and assisted by a foot pedal. The available angle depends on the seat height setting.

Directions for Use

The chair ships partly assembled, with the casters packed separately and the footrests in an inner accessory box. Installation and every adjustment are dealer tasks, including seat height, seat depth, backrest angle, back tension, armrest position, headrest position and footrest length. Safety Information

• Do not exceed the weight capacity stated in Specifications.
• Do not use this chair as a transportation device or as a long-term seating system, and never leave anyone unattended in it.
• Do not allow the chair to be pushed or pulled by anyone other than an attendant, and do not take it up or down a slope steeper than the grade stated in the manual, or across a side slope.
• Do not treat the caster locks as brakes. They are not designed to slow the chair on a descent, and using them that way can tip it in the direction of travel.
• Do not lean forward or sideways while seated, reach to the floor for objects, use the footrests to help with a transfer, stand on the frame, or lift the chair and occupant by the armrests or footrests.
• Do not immerse the chair, in whole or in part, in water or any other liquid. It is not a pool chair.
• Before the chair is occupied, check that the seat is fully latched, that the tilt function and both gas struts work, and that the chair is stable. Swivel all four casters outward and engage the locks before any transfer or tilt.
• Transfers carry the greatest risk of any part of using a shower chair. Test the technique with an attendant present, on a clean, dry, non-slip surface, and ask a healthcare professional for help if it cannot be done safely and repeatedly.
• Raising the seat or opening the backrest angle reduces rearward stability, so a stability check follows any adjustment.
• The manual supplied with the chair carries the full list of warnings and precautions. Read it before first use.

Care Instructions

After each use, empty the commode pan, wash it with a multi-purpose disinfectant cleaner and rinse it well. Spray the moulded seat with the same cleaner, scrub with a soft brush as needed and rinse. Clean the frame, armrests and footrests the same way. The back upholstery unbuckles for machine washing in warm water with a mild detergent, and is air dried rather than tumble dried. Wipe the chair with a soft dry cloth after the final rinse to keep mildew from building up.

• Do not submerge the chair or immerse the seat.
• Do not use abrasive powders or scouring pads.
• Rinse thoroughly so no soap or detergent residue is left.

Descaling, recommended cleaning products and dilution ratios are set out in the manual. Have a qualified dealer check the fasteners, locks, hardware and moving parts at least once a year.
