The Evolution Collection is a range of power lift recliners from the Sitting Pretty line by Pride Mobility. A motorized base raises the chair forward to help the user move from sitting to standing, and reclines back through seated, reading and reclined positions using a wired hand control. The collection is offered in six sizes, each built as its own model, so the seat can be matched to the user's height and frame rather than fitted to a single size.

Petite Wide, Small, Medium and Large use coil pocketed spring seating with a fully padded chaise and a standard footrest extension, and they deliver the Enhanced 3-Position experience, in which the leg rest extends before the back begins to recline. That sequence opens up additional intermediate resting positions. These four sizes also carry pull-out armrests with a concealed cup holder, a storage bin, and USB-A and USB-C charging connections, plus a magnetic hand control dock.

The Heavy-Duty and Very Heavy-Duty sizes are built differently. They use Total Comfort seating with a split ottoman in place of the chaise, operate as Traditional 3-Position recliners, and come with a lithium battery backup that allows the chair to run unplugged for a period during a power outage. All Evolution chairs are built on furniture-grade laminate and hardwood frames, have split backs, and can have fibre fill added or removed through zipper access for comfort adjustment.

Directions for Use

Place the chair near a standard electrical outlet on dry, level ground, with the back set at the distance from the wall listed for your size in the Specifications below. Adjust the leg levelers to stabilize the chair. Position the external transformer on the floor in an open, well-ventilated area where it will not be covered or obstructed, or mount it on the wall using the optional wall mount. Plug the power cord directly into the outlet. Do not use an extension cord.

Safety Information

• Do not exceed the weight capacity for your size. Capacities range from 400 lb (181 kg) to 600 lb (272 kg). Confirm the figure for your size in the Sizing table below.
• Do not place objects or any part of the body in the path of the lift and scissor mechanisms. These are pinch and crush points. Keep clothing, blankets, power cords, and oxygen tubing or tanks clear.
• Do not allow children or pets near the chair while it is moving. Entrapment may occur.
• Do not place objects under the chair, or under the footrest when the chair is fully reclined.
• Do not lean on or push down on the chair back while the chair is fully reclined, and do not sit or stand on the footrest. Either can tip the chair.
• Do not put your full weight on the armrests when standing, and do not drop into the chair when it is partially raised.
• Do not use an extension cord. Plug the power cord directly into the outlet. A UL Listed or UL Recognized single-outlet plug-style surge protector rated at a minimum of 1000 joules may be used, plugged directly into the outlet.
• Do not cover the external transformer or place it under the chair. Keep all electrical components dry. Indoor use only.
• Read the owner's manual for full operating instructions before first use (attached below).

Care Instructions

• Inspect the fabric regularly for pulls, tears or gaps
• Clean the fabric with a manufacturer-approved Crypton cleaning kit, suitable for all fabrics in the range
• If a cleaning kit is not available, spot clean with a mild soap and water solution and blot dry. Do not saturate the fabric
• Clean the transformer housing and hand control with a dry or lightly dampened cloth while unplugged, and allow to dry fully before plugging back in
• Do not expose the fabric to abrasive cleaners, bleach or hair-lightening products. Contact with chemicals or dampness may cause colour transfer
• Do not place the chair in direct sunlight
• Inspect wiring harnesses for damage or fraying and contact your provider if any is found
• Replace 9 V backup batteries after every activation, or every six months if unused

Overall dimensions and weight by size. Measurements may vary by plus or minus 1 in (2.5 cm), as each chair is individually built.

Sizing

Choose a size by the user's height and by seat width. Measure height without shoes. Seat width should let the hips sit comfortably between the arms without pressing against them, and seat depth should allow the user to sit fully back with a small gap between the back of the knee and the front edge of the seat. Seat to floor height determines how easily the feet reach the floor when seated. Top of back to seat indicates how much back support the chair provides above the seat cushion.
